On the 20th of March, the French Office for Research Integrity (in French: Office français de l’intégrité scientifique – OFIS) has been created as one of the department of the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (in French: Haut conseil de l’évaluation de la recherche et de l’enseignement supérieur – HCERES).
Importantly, this gives to the French Office for Scientific Integrity the status of independent authority.
The OFIS has three missions:
- to serve as a common platform of expertise,
- to act as an Observatory reporting and spreading information about Scientific Integrity,
- to provide support for all the French actors willing to share their resources and good practices.
The OFIS also has a mission of representation at the European and international levels. The OFIS is still under construction – more precise information will be available during the next fall.
